Re: 2013 Master Gardener Training —
August 1 - November 14, 2013
Who are the Master Gardeners? Master Gardeners are trained volunteers of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service who take an active interest in their lawns, trees, shrubs, flowers and gardens. They receive special training and in return volunteer time to Extension training more people. These volunteers working through Extension and the Master Gardener program provide horticultural and related information in organized efforts attempting to reach goals set early in the year.
You have either notified us or your name has been given to us as someone who is interested in seeing if you qualify to participate in the noted Texas Master Gardener Program. This program is offered by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service – Victoria County and will begin its nineteenth year of training in Victoria August 1, 2013. The first meeting and orientation will be held at the County Extension Office, 528 Waco Circle. The remaining trainings will be held at the Victoria County 4-H Activity Center, 259 Bachelor Dr. in the Victoria Regional Airport complex, about two blocks north of the Extension office. Training will be held from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. each Thursday with the last training on November 14, 2013. An Awards/Holiday Celebration is planned for 6:30 p.m. December 10, 2013 where trainees (spouses invited) will receive their Master Gardener Intern card.
There is a $175.00 charge (due at the end of the first day of class) for this 16 week program (plus approximately a $45.00 optional fee for a field trip scheduled October 17, 2013).
If you are interested in participating, complete the enclosed application and return it to us prior to July 18th.
We will notify you by email (if you have access) or by telephone by July 25th if you qualify for the 2013 Master Gardener Training Course.
